Abstract

Introduction. The Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) is responsible for the well-being of workers, thus preventing and improving the reduction of occupational accidents focused on the application of the ISO 45001:2018 standard. These existential challenges require companies to find ways to become more resilient in the face of such complexities. Resilience is the ability of systems and subsystems to maintain both their functions and their structures in the face of change. Objective. Investigate through the systematic review of the literature (SRL) to answer the starting question that inquired about: How does the ISO 45001: 2018 standard affect the reduction of accidents? Methodology. The methodology was based on a review and assessment of research prior to a period of five years, through SRL, using search engines such as ScienceDirect, SciElo and Redalyc, considering rigorous inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results. Among the results obtained, it was highlighted that the ISO 45001: 2018 standard is related to workers since it focuses on the well-being of workers, likewise with the clauses it shows the importance and foundations in the standard. Conclusions. It was concluded that through the SRL the precise information for the study was obtained, which the use of this tool allowed to highlight the clauses and in turn the interrelation that it has with the organization and the workers, as well as the importance of the certification and its optimal functioning in documentation and detailed information and in turn on the resilience of the companies where the focus on the three critical points of the companies (that is, recovery, adaptation and vulnerability) is shown in surroundings to the conditions subjected to different claims within the OHSMS and that contributes to sustainable development.
