The Ecuadorian educational system and it’s deficiency in educational inclusion

Abstract

Introduction. This article presents an approach to inclusive education in the Ecuadorian educational system. The purpose is to analyze whether or not there is a deficiency in terms of educational inclusion in Ecuador. Objective. Determine the barriers and deficiencies existing in the Ecuadorian educational system for a true educational inclusion in spite of the public policies in vigor. Methodology. The research design has a procedural approach, in conjunction with data collection from different sources of information. Results. Among the results found are inequality, physical-urban-architectural barriers, social barriers, cultural barriers, present in the Ecuadorian educational system and society in general. As well as the existing resistance to relate, respect diversity and meet the needs of people with disabilities. Conclusion.  It was concluded that all these barriers prevent the achievement of a true educational inclusion and emphasizes the importance of a transformation in the pedagogical praxis which should be creative, innovative and uses diverse inclusive methodologies.
