Analysis of the process of rehabilitation and social reintegration in prisons in Ecuador

Abstract
Introduction: The process of rehabilitation and social reintegration occurs as a strategy to ensure that people who have committed delinquent or criminal acts improve their skills and become productive individuals in society. Objective: To highlight the possible shortcomings in the process of rehabilitation and social reintegration of PPL's, and the consequences of this on the social structure at the national level. Methodology: A descriptive level research is developed for which various government reports and previous research are compiled to highlight problems and conflicts in the current margin of control of the SNAI. Results: Among the most outstanding aspects are conflicts of overcrowding, medical care, violence, and integration of public policies in an assertive manner. Conclusion: Concluding that the current process does not have adequate guarantees to demonstrate efficiency and adequate compliance, which has an impact on the recidivism of criminal acts and, therefore, on the rates of insecurity.
