Physical and mental self-concept of students of cycle I of the physical education career of the UNJFSC de Huacho

Abstract
The research which aimed to determine the physical and mental self-concept of the students of the physical education career, in order to diagnose the knowledge of the future professionals about the psychic and corporamental development since within their professional activity from an early age they educate the care and maintenance of the human body and mental health. The research was developed in 30 students of which 26 correspond to the male sex and 4 to the female sex. For the determination of the physical self-concept, the Stunkard Questionnaire Instrument and the Stunkard Nine Silhouettes Scale were applied, and for the mental self-concept, the STAI Questionnaire (A / E) was composed of 20 statements with a Likert scale. From a statistical point of view, the proportions difference test was applied to determine the values corresponding to the nine figures presented by Stunkard and determined that the physical self-concept according to the criteria: the silhouette that it should have, the corresponding silhouette of its preference with the opposite sex, as seen by other people and the silhouette that represents a healthy person does not correspond to reality. Finding proportional differences in the figures and their reality. As for the mint state, the results of the statements have a proportion of 0.17 in general which indicates that the statements are between something (1) and enough (2).
