Multiple intelligences for the development of reading skills

Abstract
The general objective of this research was to optimize the teaching of the subject of Language and Literature, taking into account multiple intelligences, for the development of reading skills in Higher Basic students. It was carried out under a non-experimental, descriptive and field design, by applying a Likert scale questionnaire to 37 students, whose reliability was corroborated through Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient, with a value of 0.717. Data processing was carried out through SPSS and normality analyzes were performed, which showed that all the variables of the instrument were parametric, according to the Shapiro Wilk method. The statistical analysis of frequencies determined that 35.1% feel motivated by reading, which contrasts with 81% who affirm that reading is important. A descriptive statistical analysis was carried out to identify the competencies that should be prioritized, which allowed the elaboration of a proposal to develop them
