Noise pollution due analysis to vehicle congestion in the center of Guayaquil city
Main Article Content
Abstract
Introduction: This document represents the development and presentation of an environmental study that can be used either in theory or practice as it provides new local data regarding the emission of noise pollution levels concentrated in the center of the Guayaquil city belonging to Guayas province. Objective: Analyze the noise pollution caused by a series of factors such as vehicular traffic concentrated in the center of the city of Guayaquil. Methodology: Samples from a main area of the city of Guayaquil, since it is a main sector of vehicular flow that circulates in a north-south direction and vice versa, this sector represents one of the points of commercial development and large vehicular traffic. Knowing the acoustic levels and after taking samples using the integrated sound level meter for acoustic measurement, the analysis of the data provided by the instrument is conducted to determine the existence or not of acoustic contamination. Results: This type of study, which is part of the first conducted in the city of Guayaquil, provides useful information that places said city, together with the Agrarian University of Ecuador, in the environmental vanguard, leaving technical environmental research as a precedent. The information experienced in this study is considered optimal and pertinent for the execution and elaboration of socioeconomic and economic-environmental analysis. Conclusion: With the study of the data obtained through the measurements, it can be deduced that the sound pressure levels recorded exceed the thresholds allowed and established in the technical standard of the Ministry of the Environment of Ecuador, which can cause irreparable damage to the health conditions of the people who are around or live in the sampled sector.
