Urban sustainability indicators for the city of Cuenca of recycled and reused public infrastructure: a literature review

Abstract

Urban sustainability indicators have allowed the generation of treatment methodologies for the solutions of several problems addressed in the ODS, and to improve the habitat of society, in the absence of an international unified list, inconveniences may arise when trying to solve problems such as the reuse of abandoned buildings. Therefore, the objective of the research was to evaluate the international sustainable indicators in recycled and reused public infrastructure and adapt them to the city of Cuenca for the urban recovery of abandoned sites. Using a descriptive-observational methodology with a qualitative approach through a literature review under a timeline and case study. The results showed that the situation of abandonment of the Santa Ana Bullring must be analyzed in depth for its intervention through the obtained indicators of recycling and reuse of infrastructure; moreover, in the study, the issues of green spaces, public space, temporality of infrastructure, indicators of mobilization and urban maintenance services are considered as the most feasible in the case. Concluding that, the importance that the Bullring had for the city of Cuenca and the space it occupies should be considered the implementation of indicators for an adaptation of the site for the benefit of the collectivity. and regenerate the environment of the society.
