Methodological strategies and quadratic functions
Main Article Content
Abstract
The main purpose of this research work is to determine the methodological strategies incidence in the quadratic functions teaching process. Thus, a comparison among two strategies used by teachers was carried out. The quantitative paradigm was applied in this investigative work due to the fact that it was necessary to compile information in order to make its corresponding analysis through an appropriate statistics tool. Field and observation methodology was also applied because it was necessary to inquire in the BGU second year students at Unidad Educativa “Cusubamba”. In addition to this, a documentary- bibliographic investigation was developed since it was essential to get information from reliable sources such as magazines, books and repositories which support this investigation work. The descriptive point of view was taken into account at the moment to develop this research work since it helped to validate the hypothesis stated. The results got from the investigation show that the students taken as the experimental group obtained better results with an average of 6,06 compared from the control group which got 4,44 in the learning development. Nevertheless, the grades obtained reveals that students continue with some difficulties in the terminology, analytical methods of solving mathematical problems, and also in dependent and independent variables differentiation. In conclusion, the use of the methodological strategies provides students some abilities and the knowledge about the logical sense of the process for comprehension and the second order equations problem solving related quadratic functions.
