Abstract

Introduction. Renewable energies claim to be the way to decontaminate the planet, there have been many decades of pollution to which the earth has been exposed, one of the great problems is the great dependence on fossil fuels, this has caused large spaces on the planet contaminated, diseases to human beings, extinction of species and many other serious consequences that have yet to be seen. Objective. This research aims to make an exposition of the possible scenarios regarding the approach of the use of air as a material to generate energy resources in Ecuador. Methodology. By means of a documentary bibliographical investigation, in which the different sources of information are reviewed in this regard, such as scientific publications, thesis, or others that contribute to the construction of the investigation. Results. As results, the fact that Ecuador has all the characteristics to be able to make a transition to the use of renewable energies such as wind power stands out, which even already has this type of projects, however the high costs and the lack of vision have reduced the capacity and commitment to a friendly change with the environment, on the other hand, the positive impact that this type of energy would have for rural communities is evident. Conclution. The geographical characteristics in which the country is located, in which there is an equatorial calm, do not allow wind energy to be used in all the geographical areas of the country. This does not mean that it is not possible, only that spaces must be located where the wind potential can be used to the maximum and in this way positively impact these rural areas.
